SBBG Publications & Reports
The Santa Barbara Botanic Garden’s support for research extends back into the 1940s. Early publications on the Trees of Santa Barbara (Van Rensselaer), as well as plant chromosomal structure (Walters) and plant anatomy (Moseley), contributed to the public appreciation of plants around us and to the scientific understanding of plant function. During the 1950s and 1960s the Garden provided facilities and field support for the fledgling campus that would grow into the University of California at Santa Barbara. Since that time, researchers on the Garden’s staff and others utilizing the Garden’s facilities and grounds have published over 300 contributions to the scientific literature.
The following bibliography includes publications of the staff of the Santa Barbara Botanic Garden as well as publications that were directly facilitated by the Garden.
