The University of California Cooperative Extension Master Gardeners of Santa Barbara County provides volunteer services to the community through public education in horticultural best practices. The UCCE Master Gardener program mission is strongly supported by the Santa Barbara Botanic Garden.  Class subjects range from sustainable horticultural techniques, irrigation, soils, and landscaping, to pruning, propagating, and composting. Trainees take a final open-book examination and present a group project. Graduates are required to volunteer in the community and attend continuing education classes and workshops to keep their certification current. Space is limited.

Visit the official UCCE Master Gardener website for more information or to request an application.
